Action:

Call someone and tell them what they do well – a gift that they offer the community.

Reflection:

What have others confirmed as something that you do well; gift that you bring to the community that makes it more just, even if the powers and principalities have not confirmed that call for you?

What does God’s version of bringing forth justice look like and feel like? Have you witnessed it?
How can your gifts and skills be used to do more of that?

Bonus 2: Humility and Passion

Sorry about the sound y’all this episode.

Today, we look at the Philippians reading for Palm Sunday and problematize the concept of Humility for those who are pushed to the margins. Let us embrace a humility that is not about shrinking ourselves but allowing space for communal uplift because we are sharing our gifts and our power.

Action:

What is something that you can learn from someone who has less “power” than you in whatever way – this might be learning a tik tok dance from a younger person. Making space for an elder to preach at you and discover the gems that they might be dropping. It might also look like saying, “I don’t know, tell me.” When you know you could just look up the answer or fake your way through it.

Reflection:

What does humility look like for you? When have you used your gifts for communal shine? Or how might you use your gifts for communal shine?

Bless someone or something in whatever that might mean for you. This can be giving a dollar to a stranger, actually laying hands on someone or watering your plants. But engage beyond yourself and bless it.

As we prepare for Holy Week, let us journey together and reflect a bit on what God might be up to in our lives so that we can participate in God’s dream for the world.
